Caring For Your Candle
Trim your wick to ¼ inch before every burn.
Burn for at least 2 hours and never more than 4 hours at a time.
Keep your candle away from drafts or unstable surfaces.
Extinguish the flame fully before placing the lid back on.
Stop burning when ¼ inch of wax remains in the jar.

Q:My candle changed color. Why?
A:Natural ingredients can shift in color without UV stabilizers. It may tan or darken near the end, but performance stays the same.

Q:Where are SouthShop candles made?
A:All candles are hand-poured in small batches at my Suffolk County, Long Island studio.
Q:My candle arrived broken. What should I do?
A:Email me at daniela@southshop.us

Q:What are not “acceptable reasons for a return”?
A:Aesthetic changes like frosting, tanning, or cracking don’t qualify. They don’t affect performance. I prioritize clean, high-quality ingredients over additives that guarantee perfect looks.
Q:My candle has a black rim. What do I do?
A: Trim your wick after every burn. Long wicks cause soot by throwing off the balance of flame and wax. see candle care section
Q:My candle has white crystals or frosting. Is this normal?
A:Yes. Natural soy wax reacts to temperature changes. It’s only aesthetic and doesn’t affect burn or scent.
Q:Can I exchange my candle if I don’t like it?
A:Exchanges aren’t available yet. There is a sample included wit every order so that you can get a sense of the scent before opening your candle. You can return unused, unopened candles. Email me. I’m happy to include samples in your next order so you can find your match.
Q: I got a gift card as a gift. Can I exchange it for money?
A:Congrats, someone loves you! No, gift cards can’t be exchanged for cash.
Q: I got a candle as a gift, can I exchange for money?
A: no. Any approved return will be to the original form of payment. Purchase with gift card go back as store credit.

- Orders are processed within 1 business day and shipped within 24 hours unless it's a holiday or weekend. In that case, shipping will occur the next business day.
- If the item is special order, or something with Essential Oils, It will be shipped the next day.
- Free local deliveries are made within 24 hours.
- Express deliveries are sent out the same day between 7 am and 9 pm.
Cancelations
- You can cancel your order anytime before it ships.
- Cancellations can be made through your account page.
Returns
- 20-day return policy for unopened and unused items.

Refunds
- Full refund on returned items (minus shipping charges).
- If your original order included free shipping, a $5 fee will be deducted from your refund.
